Idsall Boys and Girls Win Telford & Wrekin Schools Year 9 Athletics Championship 2010

Didn't they do well! The boys came 2nd overall and the girls came 4th which meant a combined result of first place out of 13 schools. A great achievement. Here is the table of results (pdf).

Alexis Hurdles to Winning Post

We are pleased to report that one of our Year 8 students, Alexis Newton-French, won the U15 75metre hurdles at the Shropshire Athletics Association County Championships on Saturday 8th May 2010 at the Telford Athletics Stadium.

This is the second year running Alexis has held this title. Her parents report "Despite moving up an age group and losing her heat, she still went on to win the final. She has shown great determination which at times is very waring but she has come on leaps and bounds in the sport".

Well done Alexis from all the students and staff at Idsall.

Shropshire Cross Country Championships 2010

Tristan Carter in Year 7 ran the best form of his season at Oswestry on 23rd January 2010 and qualified for the English Schools Cross Championships to be held in Manchester in March.

Other Idsall runners ran strongly but narrowly missed out on selection; including Matthew Taylor in Year 7, Max McClure in Year 8, Andreas Vanezi and Richard Heywood in Year 9.  Georgia Potts ran well as she returned from injury and is in contention to be selected for Shropshire inter-county match in Shepshed, Leicestershire in February.

Well done Tristan and good luck for the Championships in March.
