Gifted & Talented in Sports
The Physical Education department at Idsall School continually strive to develop its pupil’s healthy lifestyles through curriculum lessons and extra-curricular provision. The PE staff monitor pupil progress in lessons regularly throughout the year and track pupil achievement during curriculum and school sport involvement. This enables us to celebrate the success of pupils when participating in session six clubs and when representing the school.
We are obviously aware that many of our pupils are involved in sport outside of school and with your support; we are looking to update our Gifted and Talented register during this academic year to include new Year 7 pupils and pupils from other years who compete at a high level. This enables us to celebrate the sporting success our pupils achieve outside of school and also gives us the opportunity to nurture and support young athletes whilst in school. The Gifted and Talented programme is aimed at pupils who are training or competing at district, county, regional, national and international levels within their sport.

The John Beswick Awards are taking place on Tuesday 27th February 2018 and the aim of this annual awards ceremony is to recognise talented young people who have represented their country at sport over the preceding year, and who attend an affiliated school or college in Shropshire.
Pupils must have represented their country between the period 1st September 2016 to 31st August 2017 and this must have been at either Schools or National Association level.
If this applies to your son and daughter then please complete the attached document and return it with any supporting evidence to Mrs Askin (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday 26th January 2018.
